Record Number of Travellers Over Christmas Period | FairPlane UK image

A record number of people are expected to get away this Christmas with many flying off to skiing destinations or to catch some winter sun.

Most are taking advantage of the strong pound to grab cheap last minute holidays to Europe and beyond. With the Euro rate hovering around 1.40 to the pound, a ski holiday to Austria can now be had for as little as £500 for a week including lift passes and ski hire!

Flying to North Africa, in particular Morocco has also become attractive with the strong pound and a guarantee of some winter warmth.

With the increase in winter air traffic there comes the greater risk of flight delays with many charter companies struggling to slot in their charter flights amongst the already packed scheduled flights leaving Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and Luton airports.

Many charter airlines such as Monarch, Thomson and Thomas Cook are likely to suffer from serious flight delays. The statistics show that these airlines already sometimes struggle to keep flights on time with up to 2% of their charter flights suffering a flight delay of 3 hours or more.

If you are caught up in a serious flight delay this winter then please contact us to find out if you can claim flight delay compensation of up to £545. It could pay for that winter sun you are dreaming of or a week in the Austrian Alps!
