If you’re lucky enough to be jetting off on holiday this Easter, we hope you have a great time and that everything goes smoothly regarding your travel plans.

If you do suffer a flight delay on either leg of your journey, you will be protected by the Denied Boarding Regulation as long as either one of the following applies…

  • You’re flying with an EU based airline
  • You’re flying with a non EU based airline flying, but have taken off from EU airport

Depending on the length of your delay, you may be entitled to the following:

  • Free food
  • Free phone calls and email
  • Free hotel accommodation and transfers if an overnight stay is required

A delay of longer than five hours would mean that you would be entitled to choose between being rerouted or reimbursed. This would also be the case if your flight was cancelled.

Denied Boarding Regulation only applies to EU airport flights, so if you’re flight isn’t covered by the regulation, you won’t be entitled to any of the above.

Flight delay compensation

You could also be entitled to claim up to €600 in flight delay compensation, depending on the length of your flight and the reason for the delay.

You can find out in a minute how much compensation you might be owed. Just provide us with a few basic details about your flight.

If you’ve got any questions about the claim process you can contact one of our claims experts via any of the available methods listed on the Make a claim page of this website.
