The temporary closure of the main runway at Aberdeen airport left passengers unhappy despite apologies from airport representatives.
The airport was closed on Wednesday evening (14th September) as essential repairs were made to the runway. A spokesman referred to the damage as being only relatively minor, although still significant enough to warrant the brief closure of the airport.
If that hadn’t upset passengers enough, more despair was yet to come as further delays and cancellations occurred the following day as the result of a heavy fog over the airport.
But it’s not all bad news. The terminal is currently undergoing extensive improvements at a cost of 20M, which will eventually increase the size of the facility by 50%.
