The arrival of the “mini beast from the east” has caused widespread travel disruption across the UK, including further flights delays and cancellations.
Ice and snow was widespread cross the country over the weekend, with travellers being warned to check airport timetables before setting out on their journeys.
Around 100 flights from Heathrow airport were cancelled, whilst Gatwick warned passengers to expect delays.
It was reported that many planes at Manchester Airport required de-icing before they could be put into service.
The last 48 hours have however seen a marked improvement in the weather across most areas of the country although there are still significant problems in some parts of the south west, with at least 10cm of snow in Exeter, according to the Met Office.
