Tired of wheeling your bag around the airport? How about using a robotic suitcase? image

A company called Airwheel have launched a robotic suitcase which can follow you automatically around the airport. Called the SR5, the 20 inch suitcase is small enough to stow in overhead lockers but is large enough for most short trips.

It contains a lithium battery and a USB charging port so your case can charge your phone or ipad. It also comes with a LED strip lighting for ambient mood. Airwheel state the lithium battery complies with all airline regulations and so is safe to stow in the aircraft.

The suitcase works by you wearing a wristband which the case then follows wherever you go. It automatically avoids bumping into objects and other passengers by sensing anything in its path and changing direction.

It even comes with a cup holder.

All of this doesn’t come cheap though. The Airwheel SR5 costs a whopping £450 but this doesn’t seem to be putting trendy passengers off – it is currently out of stock at Amazon…
